Melissa Richardson
BayRidge Effective Therapy
I help clients work through personal and relational challenges while moving towards the life they envision.
As a therapist, my priority is to create a supportive and grounded space where you feel seen, heard and understood. I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, relationship concerns, life transitions and the impact of stress or past experiences.
With my background, I bring to the table a whole-body approach to therapy, informed by my background in Nursing. Having worked in settings ranging from the ER to Home Health, I have seen how deeply connected the mind and body truly are. Addressing fears, stress, and emotional patterns can play a meaningful role in overall healing and well-being.
I utilize a bottom-up approach, integrating somatic and mindfulness-based practices in an effort to develop a sense of safety, grounding, and presence. Together, we focus on small, intentional steps that can lead to lasting and meaningful change.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking with my scruffy pup, Romeo, and caring for my chickens. Snuggling with my roosters is one of my favorite pastimes. I also love traveling, trying local cuisine, and recreating favorite recipes at home—moments that remind me of the importance of balance and connection.
