Gaming in Therapy: Virtual Reality

Virtual Reality (VR) can be an effective tool to use in therapy sessions. VR headsets and handhelds are used to simulate real-world issues and provide a perfect environment to implement and practice the tools and techniques learned in session. VR is an optional tool used with clients that allow them to have real time emotions that might not otherwise come to light in a therapy session. We use the Quest Oculus 2 gaming system incorporating it's abilities for real life simulations allowing real-time emotion regulation and application of cognitive tools.
