Something is not quite right.
Someone has told you your child needs help, or you see a drastic change.
Your once well-adjusted child is now exhibiting socially unacceptable behaviors, and fights with other children are now becoming commonplace.
They can’t express their emotions or tell you what is troubling them, and they have stomach aches and headaches. They also can’t focus.
There are behavioral issues with teachers at school, and grades may also be affected.
You are at a loss to know what to do.
Everything you have done is not working, and there has not been any positive change in their behavior.
You feel like a failure, especially when you see your friends with children thriving and having no issues.
Family life is upside down, and the other children in your family may be impacted.
The soul of a child inspires me.
Their perception, input, choices, and curiosity motivate and lift me.
As a child therapist, I strive to inject laughter into my practice. I meet children where they are through movement and exercises while incorporating their love for movies, shows, games, and technology.
These kiddos bring joy into my life; it is a blessing to tap into their current perspectives, connect with them, and support them as they grow.
Here’s the way I provide support.
Often, the child can benefit from integrating feedback and providing direction to those within that child’s path of influence, including focused areas of support for other family members, parents, teachers, caregivers, and more.
It takes a village to raise a child. I am honored to be a part of your child’s life and your family as they grow and develop, learning to pivot and adjust to life’s curveballs.
That love for children has drawn me to work in many capacities throughout my career, such as in a newborn nursery, leading a classroom for three-year-olds, becoming a teacher working in kindergarten and first grade, and providing therapy in different schools from kindergarten to fifth grade.
Let’s find a solution together.
Some therapeutic approaches I use include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy Techniques, Art Therapy, and Strength-Based Therapy. Don’t worry about the names – know that they are proven approaches designed to address specific struggles your child may be experiencing.
Imagine that during my sessions with your child, I will gently and compassionately explore their feelings and issues in a supportive environment.
We’ll make their journey one of understanding and healing to bring about changes in their behavior.
